Snowmaggedon

Wednesday morning i woke up to the kind of snow I can appreciate:

Just enough to transform everything into a winterwonder land with out sticking to the roads, and melting by mid afternoon.

So, people out here on the east coast are annoyingly afraid of snow. They cancel school when it's forecasted to start snowing in the evening. They cancel church for fear the parking lots won't be clear on the sunny day after a few inches of snow.
So when there's a forecast for a blizzard that's bringing two feet of snow, you can imagine the mayhem that ensues. Soon the grocery store is out of milk, beef, and toilet paper. Everything closes down and everyone prepares for several days stuck inside their houses...
and then in the course of 24 hours this happens:

and then after it's stops snowing people like me have to figure out how to deal with the after effects. What I would have paid for a snowblower this afternoon.

Getting my car from where it was in this picture (notice the Virginia licencse plate) to inside the garage took at least an hour, plus a lot of frustration from my neighbors who had to help me get unstuck a dozen times, due in part to the fact, that my car didn't really fit in this direction... we had to turn it around and go in backwards.
