My theory is that most human beings are afraid of change. At least most of the female gender that I know is. 80-year-old Beula, 15-year old Melissa, and I have all been scared stiff by it in the last few weeks. The odd things is how desperately we cling to the old way of doing things even if that makes us unhappy, lonely, unhealthy, or needy.
I'd like to hope that lately I'm embracing the new phase my life seems to be evolving into. Really letting go, trying to find realistic hopes and dreams, realizing how far I still have to go. Yet there's gotta be something in the fact that I finally deleted that picture from my phone, didn't send that text message, and actually made it to the one month goal. Maybe I'm stronger than I thought.
